Opticus Media was formed in 1986 by Victoria and Cal Lewin. Our national award winning work has included videos for websites, marketing, viral videos, internal programs to shape corporate culture, TV commercials, convention displays, stadium scoreboards, national public television programs, exhibit videos and music videos. Based in Seattle, we have served clients in the US, Europe and Canada.
Co-founder and president of Opticus Media, Cal directs, shoots and edits all Opticus productions, including our public TV programs Great Grandfather's Drum and The World in a Box. Cal has written, directed and shot more than 300 TV commercials, more than 100 corporate marketing programs, and a variety of public television documentaries and commercial TV programs in the US, Europe and Japan. Mr. Lewin brings a broad marketing background, for Lockheed-Martin Cal provided marketing videos, national magazine ads, brochures, logos, and new product names for the introduction of a $450 million commercial satellite company. Mr. Lewin was previously a writer-producer at Orenstein Advertising in Los Angeles, specializing in national consumer electronics accounts, and worked for famed animator Chuck Jones. Cal taught courses in film making at the University of California Santa Cruz, guest lectured at the UCLA film department, addressed the University Film Association annual meeting, and has been published in American Cinematographer Magazine.

Victoria's years of producing experience and relaxed interviewing style found eloquent expression in our new public TV program Great Grandfather's Drum, filmed in Hawai'i and Japan. For our public TV science documentary The World in a Box, Victoria traveled all over the world to film at the UN World Food Program, FEMA, the World Wildlife Fund, the Library of Congress, and many other major organizations. Ms. Lewin began her career in New York City at CBS publishing, later she became a producer for Skyline Films in New York. A member of SAG/AFTRA, Victoria appeared in national commercials for Fab, Wheaties, Wonder Bread, Gallo Wine, McDonalds, Nationwide Insurance, Comet Cleanser, Tropicana Orange Juice and Ortho Pharmaceuticals. She produced a half-hour documentary on race relations in high schools for HUD. In Alaska she wrote, directed and hosted an award winning series of over 800 public radio interview programs celebrating the cultural diversity of Alaskans including Inupiat, Yup'ik, Athabascan, Tlingit, Haida, Aleut and non-native Alaskans, which aired on 22 stations throughout Alaska for 8 years, and on National Native News. She also created a short film about the Maui Matsuri Japanese summer festival, and produced 3 PSAs for the From Bento to Mixed Plate exhibit for the Japanese American National Museum. Victoria is co-founder and vice president of Opticus Media.

We're all about people and their stories
It may be the great stories of your customers. Or the wise experiences of your employees. It may be your CEO's story of innovation and success. We capture their passion on video, to speak to your target audience and achieve your marketing goals, from TV commercials to web videos to giant stadium screens.
It may be the history of a culture reflected in the eyes of a grandfather. The thrill of a scientist building a new technology. Or the joy of an aid worker saving lives. Feel their warmth, humanity, brilliance and enthusiasm. We portray people and ideas that shape our world in award-winning broadcast documentaries and videos.
VRstudios, a leader in the virtual reality industry, asked Opticus to write and produce a video introducing their newest product, a groundbreaking state-of-the-art virtual reality system for architects and engineers.
